World Card Making Days - Oct 5, 6, and 7 - PLUS week long specials!

Hi everyone - I am sure you are getting yourselves into the regular routine of fall, maybe back to school, or at least a more "normal" pace in your life now that summer is over, and our Fall/Autumn has begun. Loving the cooler days and even the rain was a welcome sight on the West Coast!

As you know, I have had my Card Making and Holiday Catalogue event in the works for awhile now, and I am so happy I did not send out notices - as yesterday Stampin' Up! announced some big sales for World Card Making Day events that go for 10 days - yikes!! - and a Designer Series Paper Sale for the month of October. Add in some special kits for Paper Pumpkin for October and November, and the BIG news that Stampin' Blends alcohol markers are being brought back this year (more once I know) and you have the makings for an awesome blog post! So let's get going:

World Card Making Day #makeacardsendacard is October 7th this year and to celebrate with you I will be having drop in card making events on Thursday, October 5th  from 7:00 - 9:00 pm; Friday October 6th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm; and Saturday October 7th from 1:00 - 4:  00 pm. At the same time you can see the Holiday Catalogue (and take home a copy) and some of the awesome items I have got - and sample cards I have made - I wish I could "have it all" but I'm making do with what my budget says! There are a couple of really fun kits to make too - so no need to buy lots of product - it's all there for you! And did I mention door prizes?? Yes, there will be some awesome door prizes for all those attending during any of the three days :-) and some early holiday style treats too!

Stampin' Up! is having a super sale starting October 1st to 10th with 15% off on so many items we use in card making - check my in store link on October 1st for all the details or watch for my email with the attachments. My favourite items are the Note Cards and Envelopes (20/$6.80) and the Fast Fuse Adhesive ($13.50) with TWO refills FREE! So many Stamp Sets are on sale too - and the Designer Series Papers to coordinate with them - you won't want to miss all the details!

There is no limit to the number of FREE packages of Designer Series Papers you can order, so check with your friends and family and get the deal and share with them! And you can pick your free products - so you can buy three of the paper stacks at $12.50 and get that Specialty Designer Paper priced at $17.00 or $14.50 for FREE. I have the list now and will be sending with my email so check your "in box" later this afternoon or check my shopping link on October 1st!

We still have some spaces at our Ronald McDonald Stamp-a-Stack Fundraiser on October 14th and would love to have you join us - it is such a fun event with some amazing prizes! Stamp-n-Storage has again donated some of their amazing storage units for our event and I would love to see you go home with one of those prizes or any of the other many donated items! Book your tickets here and join the fun! If you have any questions, send me a quick email and let me know.

Try it out by signing up here - you've got nothing to lose and so much fun once you try it! And a perk about being a member of the Paper Pumpkin Club is you can buy past kits while they last!

Mark your calendar now for my next Make it Monday event on October 16th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Although it is a "drop-in" style event, please let me know you are coming so I have enough kits prepared for you and yes, your friends too! I supply everything and the cost is $5.00 to make the featured cards or free with any order. September is here - time to get creating!!

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited that the 2017 Holiday Catalogue is here! And from what I am hearing, you are getting excited too . . .

I can't wait for you to see all the great new stamps, papers, ribbons and creative tools available for you. You can view the 2017 Holiday Catalogue at my online store, or download the catalogue from the image to the right. If you are an out of town customer of mine, I have mailed you one - if you are local to our Maple Ridge area, please stop by at one of my events to get yours! You really will want your own copy so you can take in the amazing and fun ideas and gorgeous samples.

My Catalogue launch event is coming soon! I will have samples and new products so you can see for yourself how awesome they are. Don’t want or need all the products – then check out the many kits as they have everything you need to make some gorgeous cards with only adhesive, inks and stamps required (and some kits have it all!) Watch for your email invitation 🙂

I still have some Retired Products for sale in my Stampin' Studio, so let me know when you want to come by and take advantage of all the bargains - most items are 50% off – it’s definitely worth taking a look!

Check out this link to sign up for our Ronald McDonald House fundraiser - you won't want to miss it on Saturday, October 14th - and now that September is here, tickets are going fast!!

Remember to sign up for your Paper Pumpkin kit at 50% off - only until September 10th!! The kits are so much fun - you won't want to miss out! You can even buy refills of kits you love once you are a member! Click on the link for easy sign up!

Make it Mondays starts again September 18th – from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Although this is a “drop-in” style of event, please let me know you are coming so I prepare enough kits for you and your friends! Cost is $5.00 to make the featured cards or free with any $25 order. You can send me an email or text, or message me on Facebook. This is a fun way to add cards to your box so you are ready for any event . . . plus you can take them home as samples to recreate with your own products - win/win!!

Can’t wait to see you and share the fun 😊

As the summer heat cools into fall I wanted to share a project in my Newsletter featuring one of the new stamp sets from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue. You'll be glad to have a go-to stamp set, like Painted Harvest, to spark your creativity. I know sunflowers are usually yellow tones - but I am having fun making different flowers with other colours - try it yourself!

Painted Harvest Stamp Set
The new Painted Harvest stamp set makes this card bloom with personality. Don't let this gorgeous card fool you, it's easy to create with just a few supplies. You can make something that looks amazing, but doesn't take a ton of work, especially with this stamp set. It's just what I look for when I want to make a bunch of cards quickly. Follow these few steps to make it now!

Stamp Inside Card
Score 5-1/4" x 8" Whisper White cardstock at 4" on 8" side. Ink larger flower layer with Marina Mist. Stamp off.
Stamp on inside top right corner. Stamp small flower layer with Dapper Denim.

Stamp Card Front
Stamp leaves with Lemon Lime Twist & Wild Wasabi. Stamp flower center and dots with Lemon Lime Twist.
Fold card and repeat stamping steps on card front.
Leave top right corner blank. Fill in with Wild Wasabi leaves for variety.

Fold Corner
Fold top right corner down towards the center of the card. The fold should be about 2-3/4" to 3" from the top on the right edge.
Use the Bone Folder to neatly crease the fold into place.

Final Touches
Adhere the corner flap down. Stamp greeting with Dapper Denim ink.
Adhere folded card piece to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Dapper Denim cardstock.
Add a gold circle Metallic Enamel Shape to the tip of folded corner to finish the corner fold effect.

Try the idea with another stamp set and be sure to let me know how you did!

Happy Stamping!
